This Privacy Policy explains how Hively ("Hively", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use the Hively mobile application (the "App"). It also explains your rights under UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

Hively is a UK-based platform that connects sports trainers with users who wish to book sports training activities.

- Phone number
- Account login credentials
- Profile information (including pronouns and biography)
- Profile photo and activity images uploaded via camera or photo library

- Reviews and ratings you submit
2.2 Trainer-Specific Information
If you are a Trainer, we may also collect:
- Date of birth
- Government-issued ID (via third-party verification providers)
- Verification status
- Qualifications or experience information you choose to provide
- Activity location data, including precise addresses and geographic coordinates
2.3 Automatically Collected Data
- Device type and operating system
- App usage data
- IP address
- Precise location data (GPS coordinates), used to show activities near you
- Push notification tokens, used to deliver notifications to your device
- Locally cached data such as location and user preferences stored on your device
- Device advertising identifiers (e.g. Apple IDFA, Google Advertising ID), subject to your consent where required by your device operating system
3. How We Use Your Data
We use personal data to:
- Create and manage user accounts
- Facilitate bookings between Members and Trainers
- Process payments and refunds (via third-party payment provider)
- Verify Trainer identity (via third-party verification providers)
- Communicate with users
- Improve and maintain the App
- Detect and prevent fraud or misuse
- Comply with legal obligations
- Measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and attribute app installs to their source
4. Legal Bases for Processing
We process personal data under the following legal bases:
- Contract: To provide the App and booking services
- Legitimate interests: To improve the App, prevent fraud, and ensure platform security, and measure advertising effectiveness
- Legal obligation: To comply with UK laws and regulations
- Consent: Where required, such as for marketing communications and advertising tracking (including device advertising identifiers)
5. How We Share Your Data
We may share personal data with:
- Other users (e.g. booking-related information between Members and Trainers)
- Payment processors — payment details are processed by third-party payment providers and are not stored by Hively
- Identity verification providers
- Advertising and analytics providers
- Cloud hosting providers
- Professional advisers and regulators where required by law
We do not sell your personal data.
6. Advertising and Analytics
We use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and to understand how users interact with the App. This may involve sharing the following data with Meta Platforms, Inc.:
- Device advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, Google Advertising ID on Android)
- App events such as app installs, sign-ups, activity views, and bookings
- Device and usage information
This data is used to:
- Attribute app installs to advertising campaigns
- Optimise ad delivery and targeting
- Measure campaign performance
On iOS, we request your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before collecting your device advertising identifier. You may decline this request, and the App will continue to function normally. You can change your tracking preference at any time in your device settings.
On Android, you may opt out of personalised advertising via your device's advertising settings (Settings > Google > Ads).

7. International Transfers
Some of our service providers, including Meta Platforms, Inc., may process personal data outside the UK. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses.

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including legal, accounting, and reporting requirements.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

The App is not directed at children. Where activities involve minors, personal data relating to minors is processed only where provided by a parent or legal guardian and solely for booking and safeguarding purposes.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
